Due to our "No Children" Wedding there will be no Flower Girls or Ring Bearers however there are still plenty of important people in our Bridal Party.
For starters, my awesome Maid of Honor:
Rose Mendoza
We have known each other for about 8 years, with loads of adventures and hopefully she doesn't get drunk enough to tell our stories in her speech lol. We have been close loving friends through so many ups n downs it's impossible to think of anyone else I'd rather have as my MOH. She just moved to New York and even though were miles apart now I know I can put my full trust in her to make sure everything gets done quickly and properly so watch out don't mess it up!
Tommy's Best Man:
Arturo Torres
Tommy and Arty met as co-workers and have been close knit friends for many years. They meet on a weekly basis for lunch to keep up the spark in what I like to call their bro-mance. Arty is the biggest Sox fan you will ever meet and won't hesitate to drop what he is doing to help a friend! A wonderful father and a hard worker there is no-one else Tommy would pick to be his best man!
The rest of the bridesmaids and groomsmen are hardly any less then spectacular as well. We each decided on 3 important people which have made huge impacts on our lives and have been great friends to us.
Delilah Salgado or most commonly referred to as
Zena
Delilah and I met quite some time ago through the Southwest Youth Collaborative's all female Hip Hop group Synergy. She is an intelligent artist and we have made beautiful music with each other through the years. She has taught me so many things about being a strong woman in today's world and lovingly opened up her home to me when I had none. There is no way I can begin to repay her so I show her my appreciation by asking her to be at my side on this special day.
Adam and I started out in the same music group that a friend of ours started. We have known each other for years and spent many a drunken night philosophizing things that people are probably not meant to philosophize about lol. Though we might not see eye to eye on probably 95% of the things we talk about, he has lifted my spirits when I needed it and has a good heart even though he likes to skulk in shadows. I am ecstatic he said yes to wearing a tux and dancing, can't wait to take pictures!
I met Mel the same way I met Delilah. She is the dancing queen party girl of the group. I honestly have never seen her not smiling or not heard her infectious giggling. I admire the way she flows through life never letting anything bring her down. She is one of the few people I have never gotten into a fight or argument with (shocking right?). I am honored she will be there on this joyous day and look forward to dancing all night with her!
Tommy and Croe were members of the same Graffiti crew since 1998 where they spent long nights creating works of art on every train line in the city, quickly becoming close friends. Unfortunately Croe relocated to Indiana making it harder for them to keep in touch as they used to, so Tommy is especially happy he is able to come to Chicago and share in this special day with us.
As you can see by the name Tammy is Tommy's sister. Only a year apart they grew up with a normal brother-sister love/hate relationship, but as they get older they have become friends as well. They try to talk on a regular basis and are always there to help each other out. Tommy is proud to have such a hard working intelligent sister to have at our side.
First meeting through Melissa on double dates, we all became fast friends with lots in common. He is a Star Wars nut and a Chicago Cop with whom we are happy to have met and can spend this exciting day with.
and last but not least my 2 beautiful sisters Keia and Kiera who will be my Junior Bridesmaids and Pages.
There you have it, our wonderful bridal party! Please make note that a lot of our cousins will be greeters and ushers to make the day go smoothly so make sure to flash them a smile and say thank you when they help you :)
